26 - Nimbin (El pueblo feliz / The happy town)

Ola k ase? Pues sí, este fin de semana pasado cogí las riendas de la Loles con dos coleguillas Alba y Laura y pusimos rumbo a Nimbin! Y os puedo decir... que guaaaaauuuuuu.... no es mentira en realidad no tiene nada del otro mundo para que nos vamos a engañar! =8D!

How're you going? So yeah, last weekend I took the Loles and with two more friends of mine (Alba and Laura) we headed to Nimbin! And I can say that.... wooooooowwwwwww... nah it is a lie in fact there is nothing special I'm not gonna fool you!

Qué es Nimbin? / What is Nimbin?

Nimbin es un pueblecito del estado de New South Wales, muy pequeñito y acogedor! Éste tiene poco que visitar de hecho su atracción turística principal es otra que ahora os contaré....

En realidad Nimbin tiene una calle y poco más que ver, no es un sitio en el que pasar la noche o visitar durante un día entero, unas horas te bastan para ver todo lo que tiene que ofrecer,

Nimbin is a town in the New South Wales state, really small and cozy! There is nothing to visit in fact its main touristic attraction is another one that I will talk about in a while....

In the end Nimbin is just a street and not much more, it is not a place to stay for a night or to visit during a whole day. few hours are more than enough to see everything what it can offer.

Para ser honestos lo que me pareció más bonito fue el camino para llegar allí que está compuesto de carreterillas de mala muerte (bueno a ver tampoco tan malas pero regulares) en las que te encuentras rodeado de montañas y naturaleza!

To be honest what I really enjoyed most was the road on the way to the town which is going through the mountains and so much nature!

Qué ofrece turísticamente Nimbin? / What does Nimbin offer touristically?

Ahora viene cuando los que no conocen Nimbin se pueden o soprender gratamente o escandalizar, todo dependerá de lo que tu pienses sobre.... la Marihuana! =8D!

And now is when those who don't know Nimbin can be or gratefully surprise or just shock about what I am going to say... it depends on what you think about ... Weed!! =8D!

Pues sí... Nimbin es famoso por ser el pueblo más propicio para ir en busca de María, la que da alegría ya tu sabes, y es muy típico encontrar allí pues... pasteles, galletas, cremas, perfumes... de todo vamos... En realidad acaba siendo un reclamo turístico porque a pesar de que la comercialización de Marihuana en Australia está prohibida... en este pueblo pues como que se lo pasan un poco por el forro....

So yes... Nimbin is famous for being the town where you can go after Marihuana, the happy herb you know. It is very typical to find cookies, cakes, creams, perfumes.... whatever. In the end it is just a touristic attraction due to in this town they don't really care much despite the sale of weed is forbidden in Australia.

Todo el pueblo es así muy colorido y bueno... puedes ver como la amiga María y compañeros tienen a más de uno bastante bien afectados.... pero bueno algo normal. Al parecer este pueblo, que era mucho más hippie, se ha ido desmenuzando poco a poco por culpa de la droga... lo que al principio era sólo Marihuana se convirtió en algo más duro... Y muchos de los habitantes más hippies se acabaron marchando al no estar de acuerdo con lo que estaba pasando... (Por lo menos eso me contaron mis fuentes... no Alba?)

The whole town is very colorful and well... you can also see how their Weed friend and others have seriously affected some of the people there... but well something that you could expect. Apparently this town was much more hippie but it went messy because of the drugs... What in the beginning was just weed started to change in favor of another stronger drugs. Heaps of the most hippie people left the town because they didn't agree with this new trend and what it was happening... (At least that's what my sources told me... isn't it Alba?)

Nada, hicimos lo típico, nos dimos un paseico... nos tomamos un café.... hicimos un poco el tonto por allí y poca cosa más!

And nothing else, we did the typical, just walk around... have a coffee... some silly stuff and done!



Alba, que insistió en hacernos de guía turística siendo también su primera visita..., nos dijo que la siguiente imagen pertenece a un artista callejero bastante satírico y muy famoso al parecer, sobretodo en el Reino Unido. Este artista es el llamado Banksy y yo como soy un periodista de alto nivel me he fiado de lo que me decía y no he contrastado la información porqué... total pa qué? Si no es no es... el dibujo sigue siendo chulo! =8D!

Alba, who insisted to be our guide being her first visit also... told us that the previous picture belongs to a controversial street artist who is very famous apparently... especially in the United Kingdom. This artist is called Banksy and because I am a high level journalist I trusted her and I didn't check this information because.... for what? If it is not it is not... the draw is nice anyway!

Poco más que contar, un nuevo pueblito visitado y a ver si en la siguiente entrada os puedo poner algo más potente... que tengo algo preparado pero me está costando terminarlo... por pereza más que nada...

Not much more to tell, a new little town visited and let's see if in the next post I can show you more powerful stuff... I have something prepared but it is taking me ages to finish it... mostly because I'm lazy...
